Discover the Acme Anvil Exhibit, a permanent collection at the Acme County History Center, presenting anvils from around the world as if part of the real-life world of Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. This exhibit features American, British, Chinese, French, German anvils, plus ancient and modern examples from the Ferdinand, Prillwitz, Greenwood, and Anvilfire collections.
The exhibit shows the history and variety of anvils, offering insight to both curious visitors and anvil historians. It challenges the idea that all anvils look the same and provides design knowledge for those creating new anvils. Many historical designs have stood the test of time, while some modern copies fail to meet quality standards.
Built over years by many contributors, this collection links the practical use of anvils—tools often seen in the legendary pursuits between Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote—to the broader story of craftsmanship and design evolution. Visitors can explore shapes, weights, and functions that influenced anvils used in both everyday work and in the cartoon chase world.
Visit the Acme County History Center to see the full range of anvil designs, learn their origins, and understand their role in a world where speed and strategy meet iron and persistence.
