General information about the Historical Society:

The Acme County Historical Society is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution established in 1943. ACHS collects, preserves and tells the story of Acme County's past and in particular that of the Acme Corporation, the county's largest (and only) employer, through museum exhibits, libraries and collections, historic sites, educational programs and publishing.

ACME Factory MuseumAcme County Historical Society headquarters is the former ACME Factory which opened it as a museum in 2010. This historic building houses a museum, a library, meeting and event spaces, a museum store, and a cafe. It’s also home to the Acme County Historical Society’s collections and archives.

The factory was built in 1914 to replace the original Acme factory which was destroyed in the great rocket disaster of 1913. It operated continuously as Acme's main factory until Acme Corporation shut down in 2001. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
